The rhythm
Every route follows a curve: arrival, immersion, break, rest and return. The first day asks nothing of you. The most demanding day is the one you remember most. The last one closes slowly.
You walk, you sail, you listen with the communities, not about them.

The group is capped at twelve travellers, so the visit is bearable for the place. We do not open one seat more.
Host communities are co-authors of the route, not scenery. We name them once they have consented.
What is sacred is not for sale. If a place, a song or a practice is not meant to be shown, it is not in the trip or the photo.
You ask before you photograph a person. You follow the guide. If someone says something is not to be shown, it is not shown.
If you need air conditioning, a private room or a fixed plan hour by hour, these trips are not for you. The water and the place's calendar come before the plan.
Giuliano Cavalli Gaitán, of CUCACO Travel, travels with the group as tour leader. He works with Indigenous communities in Colombia. Local guides travel with him.
